Bridging Policy & Students

Education policy decisions are often made far from the people they affect most — students. I spent a semester applying design thinking principles to that gap, starting not with solutions but with people: listening, understanding, and letting empathy lead the process. What emerged was the concept for a Student Education Policy Association Conference — a platform that brings policymakers, researchers, and students into direct conversation about how policy actually plays out in classrooms. The design process itself was the point: start with the human, build around their reality. I pitched this concept at MEITE Pitch Day — and won. Fellow students invested in the idea, validating not just the concept but the need for this kind of space in the education world. It's still conceptual, but so are most things before they become real.
