So happy you're here! 🌸
If there's one thing I care deeply about, it's education. Not just the idea of it, but the real, messy, complicated work of figuring out how to make it better for students, teachers, and everyone in between.
I've spent my career doing two things: learning how to evaluate whether education systems actually work, and exploring how technology might help solve some of those harder problems. Spoiler: it's complicated. And I love that.
I'm a curious, outgoing person who genuinely loves making connections, asking questions, and sharing what I learn. If you want to talk education, edtech, or just swap ideas, I'm always in.
(You may also know me as Lindsay Hann — same person, new last name since 2024!)
My journey so far 🌱
Finding My Path in Education
Started as an Elementary Education major at NC State, quickly discovering a love for the research and evaluation side of learning — leading me to switch to Education Psychology.
Three Years at the Friday Institute
As Intern Lead for the PEER group, I contributed to evaluations for the Oak Foundation, PBS Kids, and more — building skills in research, program evaluation, and leading teams.
The Tech Connection
Realized that technology was the thread connecting all my interests. The MEITE program at UNC Chapel Hill gave me the space to explore AI, edtech, and design thinking at the intersection of education and innovation.
Real-World User Experience
At MetaMetrics, I brought that research background into product design — conducting usability testing and shaping tools used by real students and teachers.
Inside the EdTech Industry
Now at IXL Learning, I am seeing how education technology actually gets built and scaled in a corporate environment — and it has deepened my understanding of what it takes to make learning tools that really work.
What's Next
I am open to wherever the work is meaningful — whether that is in the classroom, in research, in product, or somewhere in between. The constant is wanting to make a real impact on how people learn.
Beyond the work 🌿
Outside of the classroom and the computer screen, I spend a lot of time taking care of my plant collection. What started with a pothos has grown into a love for tropical plants and more specific care, especially favorites like Philodendron Florida Ghosts and Plowmanii.
I also spend tons of time outside with Finley, my goldendoodle. Whether we're playing ball, hiking, or just soaking up the sun, he is the best pup ever.
I'm married to Chris, who is a software developer, so our house is full of innovation, big ideas, and lots of late-night conversations about how to make them happen. My passion for the technical side of education is definitely inspired in part by him. Together, we're a powerhouse.
